IPB University (formerly known as Bogor Agricultural Institute) is a public tertiary education institution established on September 1, 1963 in Bogor, West Java Province on the basis of Science and Higher Education Ministerial Decree 92/1963, which the first Indonesian president approved through Presidential Decree 279/1965.
IPB University acquired the status of a state-owned legal entity as per Government Regulation 154/2000. Business Innovation Center, an agency owned and managed by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (now the Ministry of Research and Technology) rated the university first in terms of innovation quantity.
